How do DVD Camcorder discs differ from the standard size DVD formats?

DVD Video camcorder discs are a mini size DVD 3" or (8cm) with recording capacities of 30 minutes on a single sided disc or 60 minutes on a double sided disc. In comparison, a standard size DVD disc is 4.5" or (12cm) and has a recording capacity up to 120 minutes (2 hour) in Standard Play Mode or 6 hours in Extended Play Mode. You will be able to play the mini DVD-R discs (after finalization) in most set top DVD players, but the playback of mini DVD-Ram discs might be limited to players made by Hitachi, Panasonic and Toshiba or those that specifically state they are DVD-RAM compatible
