How should CDRs and DVDs be cared for?

Keep all your blank and pre-recorded discs and the inside of your CD/DVD player/burner free from dust and debris. Be careful not to scratch the bottom, or recording surface of the disc, and keep them away from extreme temperatures and humidity. Also, always store your discs in a protective sleeve or jewel case. Write on the top part of the disc only, with only a soft, water based, felt tip marker.
